Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of story writing skills for students, which are often overlooked and receive limited stimulation from teachers and parents despite its necessity. The objectives of this research are to identify the effectiveness of a project-based approach, and to assess the extent to which a project-based approach to collaborative storybook writing can enhance the story writing skills of early childhood children at TK Nusa Indah Cilacap. This research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR), which was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle comprised planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research data was obtained from 5 to 6-year-old children at TK Nusa Indah Cilacap. The findings indicate that collaborative story writing activities can effectively improve children's story writing skills, as evidenced by observation sheets during collaborative story writing sessions. Based on the overall research findings, it can be concluded that the research hypothesis is proven, demonstrating that a project-based approach can enhance the collaborative story writing skills of 5 to 6-year-old children at TK Nusa Indah Cilacap.
