Abstract

This research aims to explore children's creativity levels in Group B1
(second-year students) at TK (kindergarten) Aisiyah, Sidareja District,
Cilacap Regency, for the Academic Year 2023/2024. The subjects of this
study comprise 14 students from the kindergarten consisting of 10 fmales
and four males. The data were collected through Observation and
Documentation methods. This research employs the Classroom Action
Research (CAR) approach, consisting of two cycles, each comprising three
meetings. The first meeting of each cycle utilizes Lesson Plans (RPPH),
followed by reflection at the end of each cycle.
Data analysis employs a descriptive approach, utilizing both
qualitative and quantitative methods to assess children's creativity through
candle painting activities among the students in Group B1 at TK Aisiyah,
Sidareja district, Cilacap Regency, for the Academic Year 2023/2024.
Findings from the study indicate an improvement in children's
creativity through candle painting activities. Initially, out of 14 students,
58% or eight students were classified as not yet developed (BB), 22% or
three students showed initial development (MB), 7% or one student
developed as expected (BSH), and 14% or 2 students showed excellent
development (BSB). Following adjustments in the first cycle, there was an
enhancement in children's creativity, with 22% or three students categorized
as BB, 14% or two students as MB, 14% or two students as BSH, and 50%
or seven students demonstrating excellent development (BSB). In the second
cycle, creativity levels continued to improve, with 79% or 11 students
exhibiting excellent development, 7% or one student showing development
as expected (BSH), 7% or one student demonstrating initial development
(BB), and 7% or one student still classified as not yet developed (BB),
attributable to special needs. Further action will involve providing
comprehensive guidance, consultation with parents, and tailored approaches
to enhance their creativity.
