Abstract

This study is driven by the significance of children's involvement in movement and
physical activities and their interaction with educators and peers. Concerns regarding
children's lack of active engagement stemming from classroom boredom, their passive
demeanor due to limited physical activity, their tendency to quickly fatigue during
physical endeavors, and inadequate participation in sports or exercises are underscored.
The research question central to this investigation explores whether engagement in
block play activities can foster improvements in students' kinesthetic development. Thus,
this study aims to delineate children's kinesthetic development through block play
activities in TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal VI Cilacap, Cilacap District, Cilacap Regency.
This study utilizes Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over three cycles, each
consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection phases. The data
source for this research is children aged 5-6 years old in TK Aisyiyah Bustanul Athfal
VI Cilacap. Through block play activities, it is evident that kinestheticdevelopment in
children improves, as observed from the observation data sheets during block play
sessions.
Children's kinesthetic abilities improve, and they become more agile and easily engaged
in physical activities such as gymnastics, walking, and running. Based on the overall
findings of this research, it can be concluded that the hypothesis in this study is proven
to enhance the kinesthetic development of 5-6-year-old children in the kindergarten.
