Abstract

This study aims to enhance fine motor development among children aged 3-4 years through block play activities at KB (playgroup) Aisyiyah Mentari Kebagusan. The study sample consisted of 12 children, comprising four boys and eight girls. Employing a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted over two cycles, each cycle comprising three sessions, the study utilized observation, interviews, and documentation as methods. Data analysis employed qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the two cycles of classroom action research indicated that initially, the level of fine motor development through block play among children was low, with 2 children (16.66%) showing no development, five children (41.66%) showing initial development, four children (33.33%) showing expected development, and one child (8.33%) showing excellent development. Following the implementation of classroom action (CAR) in Cycle I, improvements were observed, with 1 child (8.33%) showing no development, 5 children (41.66%) showing initial development, four children (33.33%) showing expected development, and two children (16.66%) showing excellent development. As these results were not yet optimal, Cycle II was initiated. The findings of Cycle II indicated successful attainment of the predetermined developmental targets, with no children showing no development, three children (25%) showing initial development, six children (50%) showing expected development, and three children (25%) showing excellent development. In conclusion, six children (50%) achieved satisfactory development and three children (25%) achieved excellent development. Thus, the overall success rate of the study was 75%, indicating its effectiveness.
