Abstract

This research aims to enhance Grade VII students' news text writing skills at SMP Negeri 1 Pengadegan, Purbalingga Regency, through the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model. This Classroom Action Research was conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Pengadegan, Purbalingga Regency, in the second semester of 2023/2024. The research was conducted in Class VII B, consisting of 34 students, comprising 13 male students and 21 female students, with the Indonesian language subject teacher, Mrs. Niken Bara Rusdianawati, S.Pd. The research was conducted from December 14 to 19, 2023. The study was carried out through cycles, Cycle I and II.Each cycle consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The data collection techniques used in this research were test and non-test techniquesdata collection techniques employed test instruments and non-test instruments as observation sheets. The data analysis technique used in this research was both quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that using the Think-Talk-Write (TTW) learning model could improve news text writing skills among Grade VII students at SMP Negeri 1 Pengadegan. This was evidenced by the learning outcomes in Cycle I, with an average score of 71.8, ranging from the highest score of 87 to the lowest score of 60, while in Cycle II, the average score reached 82.4, with the highest score of 93 and the lowest score of 73.
