Abstract

This study aims to introduce English vocabulary to Group B2 at TK IT
Cendikia Muslim Cilacap. The research follows the collaborative Classroom
Action Research (CAR) method popularized by Kurt Lewin. The subjects of this
study are 19 children in Group B2. Observation and documentation were used to
collect data, and qualitative descriptive analysis was used for data analysis. The
success indicator for this study is if the ability to recognize English vocabulary
reaches a minimum percentage of 75%. The results show that the knowledge of
English vocabulary in Group B2 at TK IT Cendikia Muslim Cilacap for the
academic year 2023/2024 was 42% before the intervention. After introducing
English vocabulary through the singing method, in Cycle I, the results showed that
5 children (26%) were Developing Very Well, 7 children (37%) were Developing
as Expected, 4 children (21%) were Beginning to Develop, and 3 children (16%)
were Not Yet Developing, with a total percentage of 63%. In Cycle II, there was an
increase with 10 children (52%) Developing Very Well, 6 children (32%)
Developing as Expected, 2 children (11%) Beginning to Develop, and 1 child (5%)
Not Yet Developing, with a total percentage of 84%. These results indicate that the
singing method can enhance the introduction of English vocabulary children.
