Abstract

The objective of this study is to improve children's fine motor development through sand play in
Class A of KB Nabillah Banjaranyar. This research utilizes Classroom Action Research conducted
in two cycles, with each cycle comprising two sessions. The subjects of this study are the children
of Class A of KB Nabillah, totaling 14 children consisting of 7 girls and 7 boys. Data collection
techniques employed include observation, interviews, and documentation. The problem-solving
steps in this research consist of four stages of activity planning: planning, implementation,
observation, and reflection. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis.
Based on the results of this research, there is a significant improvement in children's fine motor
development. In the initial study, there were 14 children with criteria: 10 children (72%) not yet
developed (ND), 2 children (14%) beginning to develop (BD), and 2 children (14%) developing
as expected (DE). In Cycle 1, there were 14 children with criteria: 4 children (29%) not yet
developed (ND), 7 children (50%) beginning to develop (BD), and 3 children (21%) developing
as expected (DE). In Cycle II, there were 14 children with criteria: 5 children (36%) beginning to
develop (BD), 5 children (36%) developing as expected (DE), and 4 children (28%) developing
very well (DVW). Based on the results of the initial study at 28%, Cycle I yielded results indicating
that children's fine motor skills through sand play increased by 88%. The results of Cycle Il
indicate that children's fine motor skills improved by 93%.
