Abstract
This study aims to improve reading through the storytelling method in children of Group
B at the Pos PAUD Melati Klopogodo. It is an action research conducted in 2 cycles, with
each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. The subjects were 13 children from Group B at the
Pos PAUD Melati Klopogodo, including 4 boys and 9 girls. Observation and
documentation were used to collect data. The problem-solving steps in this study
consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data
analysis used qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis show an
improvement in children's reading development. Initially, out of 13 children, 2(15%) were
categorized as Not Developing, 2 (15%) as Beginning to Develop, 7 (55%) as Developing
as Expected, and 2 (15%) as Developing Very Well. In cycle I, out of 13 children, 4 (31%)
began to develop, 7 (54%) developed as expected, and 2 (15%) developed very well. In
cycle II, 2 (15%) began to develop, 8 (62%) developed as expected, and 3 (23%)
developed very well. In other words, there was an increase in reading development from
the initial study by 69%, in cycle I by 69%, and in cycle II by 85%.
