This action research aims to improve numeracy skills through the use of
concrete objects among Group A (first year) students in TK (Kindergarten)
Aisyiyah 1 Selomerto. The method employed in this research is collaborative
action research utilizing the Kurt Lewin model. The Classroom Action Research
(CAR) was conducted to address issues arising within the classroom. This
method involves four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The
research subjects are 15 students from Group A of TK Aisyiyah 1 Selomerto.
The research object is numeracy skills. Data collection was conducted through
observation. Data analysis was performed qualitatively and quantitatively. The
success indicator set is that a minimum of 75% of the 15 students achieve
numeracy skills. This research was conducted in two cycles. The results
indicate an improvement in numeracy skills among. Group A children.
Enhancement in numeracy skills is evident from indicators such as recognizing
numbers or numerals 1-10, reciting number sequences 1-10, counting objects 1-
10, assigning numerical values to a set of objects 1-10, and arranging five to
ten objects based on size order. The improvement in numeracy skills utilizing
concrete objects during the pre-action phase was 45%, which increased to 60%
in Cycle I. As this was still below the success criteria, further action was taken
in Cycle II, resulting in a significant improvement with a percentage of 86%.
With this achievement, the research was concluded as it met the success
criteria.
