This study aims to evaluate the improvement of understanding of the patriotic character
values in early childhood at Kampong Bharu Learning Guidance through the singing method.
This research was qualitative and applied Classroom Action Research (CAR) to 11 early
childhood participants at Kampong Bharu Learning Guidance in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Data collection methods involved observation sheets, post-teaching interviews, and
documentation. The results show a significant improvement in the understanding of patriotic
character values. Initially, only one child (9.09%) had a very good understanding of these
character values (BSB). Then, three children (27.27%) developed as expected (BSH), and
three children (27.27%) began to develop (MB), while four children (36.36%) did not reach
the expected development level (BB). Cycle I shows that two children (18.18%) still did not
show development (BB), but four children (36.36%) showed development (MB), three
children (27.27%) developed as expected (BSH), and two children (18.18%) showed very
good development (BSB). In Cycle II, two children (18.18%) began to show development
(MB), six children (54.55%) developed as expected (BSH), and three children (27.27%)
showed very good development (BSB). In conclusion, there was an improvement of
(81.82%) in the understanding of patriotic character values through the implementation of the
singing method.
