Abstract

Mathematics has a very important role in every aspect of our life. In everyday life, mathematics is useful in understanding, overcoming and finding solutions to various problems. However, in reality there are still many students who find it difficult to understand mathematics because mathematics is considered a theoretical, abstract, complicated and confusing science and there is a lack of learning processes that link the material with everyday life. Ethnomathematics is a branch of mathematics where ethnomathematics can be a bridge that connects mathematics with cultural anthropology. With Ethnomathematics, it is hoped that it can help students understand mathematical concepts through an approach to the culture around them, as well as help students get to know their own culture so that it can be preserved. This research aims to explore the elements of mathematics that exist in the culture of the Relic Purify Tradition of Kalisalak Traditional Village and their relevance in learning at school. This research is categorized as qualitative research with an ethnographic approach through interviews, observation and documentation. The analysis techniques used are domain analysis, taxonomy, cultural components and themes. The validity tests used include credibility, transferability and dependability. This research resulted in the finding that in the Relic Purify Tradition of Kalisalak Traditional Village there are various mathematical elements such as Sets, Relations, Probabilities, Geometry, Mathematics Logic, and Graph.
