Abstract
Madrasah as a place to teach Islamic education, is required to be more concerned about the educational environment, always improve the professionalism of educators and education personnel, always strive to continuously improve the quality of education so that madrasah can contribute to the development of Islamic educational institutions in particular and can still participate in educating the life of the nation in general. In order for madrasahs to continue to exist and not be abandoned by the community, they must be able to reform, master the vision and mission in an integrated manner, implement agreed programs, and carry out effective strategies to answer the demands of the community (consumers). If it cannot meet the expectations of the community, then the school will be abandoned. This is the background of this research. This research was conducted at MI Muhammadiyah Pasirmuncang to describe the factors supporting the existence of MI Muhammadiyah Pasirmuncang. The selection of the topic in this study was raised from the researcher's interest in revealing what the supporting factors were so that it could make a school that was almost dead come back to life and even at a developing level. This research uses descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity uses triangulation, namely by triangulating sources and triangulating techniques. The results of this study indicate that the supporting factors of madrasah existence are determined by 2 factors, namely internal factors, include: 1. vision, mission and goals of the madrasah, 2. strategies to achieve the vision, mission and goals of the madrasah 3. nature and type of activities; 4. Human resources; 5. Type of technology used. External factors include: 1. Government policy; 2. Socio-cultural society; 3. Development of science and technology. Meanwhile, the factors inhibiting the existence of mdrasah include: 1. The economic level of the students' parents is classified as lower middle class, so this has an impact on payment. 2. 70% of honorary teachers. 3. Infrastructure and infrastructure are incomplete. 4. There is no fleet of cars to pick up and pick up students.
