Abstract

This research aimed to improve fine motor development through finger painting in
children of Group B2 at BA Aisyiyah Kalimanah Wetan. The study employed the
Classroom Action Research (CAR) method in two cycles, each consisting of two
meetings. The subjects of this study were 15 children in Group B2 at BA Aisyiyah
Kalimanah Wetan, comprising seven boys and eight girls. Data collecton methods
included observation, interviews, and documentation. The problem-solving steps
consisted of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection.
Qualitative descriptive analysis was untilized for data analysis. The analysis
revealed a significant improvement in fine motor development among the children.
The initial study indicated that out of 15 children, 7 (47%) were categorized as
beginning to develop (MB), 5 (33%) were developing as expected (BSH), and 3
(20%) were developing very well (BSB). In Cycle I, out of 15 children, 5 (33%)
were beginning to develop (MB), 7 (47%) were developing as expected (BSH),
and 3 (20%) were developing very well (BSB). In Cycle II, out of 15 children, 2
(13%) were beginning to develop (MB), 7 (47%) were developing as expected
(BSH), and 6 (40%) were developing very well (BSB). There was an increase in
fine motor skills by 53% in the Initial Study, 67% in Cycle I, and 87% in Cycle II.
