Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the application of the Crossword Puzzle media on social studies learning achievement of students Fifth Grade in Theme 7 Sub-theme 1 of SD Negeri Tritih Lor 03. This quantitative research method used two forms of design, namely the One-Group Pretest and Posttest Design research. The instrument used a test .The sample in this study were all fifth-grade students at SD Negeri Tritih Lor 03 with 30 students. The results showed an average pretest score of 54.66; it then increased in the posttest average score of 81.83 after using the Crossword Puzzle media. The data analysis prerequisite test phase used the normality test, while the t-test employed the Paired Sample T-test. In the calculation process using SPSS 24 For Windows, the results of the pretest and posttest comparisons have a Sig value. (2-tailed) which is 0.000, which is the value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.025. So it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the pretest and posttest averages on the learning achievement of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri Tritih Lor 03 on Social Sciences Theme 7 Sub-theme 1 material.
