Abstract
The learning motivation of students with a background of parents who work as Indonesian workers is the subject that underlies this research. This study aims to analyze the learning process of students with a parental background as a TKI in learning motivation at Adirejakulon State Elementary School and analyzing the supporting factors and inhibiting factors in the learning motivation of students with a parental background as a TKI at the Adirejakulon State Elementary School. A descriptive qualitative approach with the phenomenological method is the approach and method used in this study. Informants in this study were students, parents, and teachers. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the attitude of students who have high learning motivation feel that the enthusiasm for learning is supported by internal motivation, which consists of wanting to succeed with their will, encouragement of the need to learn and having goals or expectations to be achieved. as well as utilizing school infrastructure for learning with teacher guidance, getting the role of parents consisting of the roles of educators, motivators, facilitators and mentors to make children feel valued and comfortable in learning or being able to solve learning difficulties they face. Students who lack motivation to learn do not have internal motivation, especially the desire to be able and lazy to learn. Parents do not carry out their role properly, especially in terms of providing education and guidance, where children feel uncomfortable and find it difficult to solve problems in learning difficulties. Supporting factors in the learning motivation of students with a parental background as TKI at Adirejakulon Public Elementary School, students have internal motivation, make the best use of the facilities provided by parents and teachers, and the role of parents is carried out properly. The inhibiting factors include the different characters of children, lack of internal motivation and the lack of parental roles in carrying it out due to economic conditions and parents' educational background.
