This research background is motivated by the lack of students’ motivation in
the teaching and learning process of fiqh. It caused of the ustadz is only focus on
using the book and the method used is only the speech method. In broad outline,
the purpose of the research and development are, (1) find out the steps to developing
the fiqh subject module in the book of Abu Syuja’ at Muna Falih Modern Islamic
Boarding School Sleman, (2) find out the use of language that is easy to understand
in the fiqh subject module, (3) to know the module design of fiqh subject, (4) to
know the module contents of fiqh subject, and (4) to understanding the elements of
novelty in the module of the subject of fiqh.
Development is carried out using the research and development method. The
research and development procedure uses the Borg and Gall theory, but this study
only takes 7 out of 10 steps which include the stages of potential/problem,
data/information collection, product design, design validation, usage testing,
product revision, and product testing. Further research data is collected through
observation, interviews, and the use of validation sheets.
Validation was done by subject matter experts and media experts. The product
was tested and trialed with 7th grade fiqh teachers and students at Muna Falih
Modern Islamic Boarding School, Sleman. Feedback from the experts and the trial
with teachers and students indicated that the fiqh subject module greatly assisted in
teaching and learning activities. This is because the developed fiqh subject module
is in the Indonesian language, with a systematic module layout, attractive
illustrations (which clarify the material being taught), and accompanied by original
Arabic texts in accordance with the Quranic verses (in the yellow book). It can be
concluded that the fiqh subject module from the Matan Abu Syuja' book has
successfully been developed for the 1st semester of 7th-grade students at Muna
Falih Modern Islamic Boarding School, Sleman.
