Abstract

The ability of a teacher to control learning in the classroom is integral to the teaching and learning process. Education, teaching, guidance, direction, training, assessment, and evaluation of students are the main duties of an educator. Planning, carrying out, evaluating, and monitoring learning outcomes in order to enhance them requires pedagogical competence on the part of the teacher. This research employed a qualitative descriptive methodology. The following methods of gathering data were used in this study: observation and interview merdeka curriculum is being put into practice. Challenges for English teachers at the Junior High School (SMP) level in Banyumas Regency in the Challenges of the Readiness of Human Resources (Teachers) as the Main Pillar of the Implementation of the merdeka curriculum in Learning English; the Challenges of Strengthening Communication Networks and Partnerships between Education Units; and the Challenges of Carrying Out the Learning Assessment Function. The strategies of English teachers at the Junior High School (SMP) level in Banyumas Regency in Among the ways the merdeka curriculum is being implemented are: 1) Gradual Implementation; 2) English teachers teaching the Junior High Curriculum with Merdeka; 3) Developing connections with Stakeholders in the Independent Curriculum's Implementation; and 4) Offer learning assessment and evaluation.
