Lung cancer is the highest cause of death in the world and in Indonesia. According
to WHO 2020 lung cancer is the disease that causes the highest death in the world
due to cancer. Lung cancer of the NSCLC type is the largest contributor to lung
cancer cases. About 80% of lung cancer cases are NSCLC. Lung cancer treatment
with EGFR examination is rarely done at the beginning of treatment. The
inaccuracy of therapy increases the burden of medical costs and reduces the
patient's quality of life. The correct selection of therapy will affect the medical costs
incurred by patients and the government for national health insurance. The research
method used was analytic observational (non-experimental) to explain the cost
effective comparison between cisplatin chemotherapy and carboplatin
chemotherapy. The pharmacoeconomic approach is seen using Cost Effectiveness
Analysis (CEA) with retrospective data collection. Clinical results were seen from
interviews using the QALYs EQ-5D questionnaire. The ICER value based on the
provider's perspective is Rp. 453.842. Meanwhile, the ICER value based on the
patient's perspective with the clinical output of PFS was Rp. 1.449.759 /PFS and
the clinical output of QALYs was Rp. 159.473.521 /QALYs. From these two
perspectives, the ICER value is smaller than 3 times GDP per capita. The use of
cisplatin chemotherapy is proven to increase the effectiveness of therapy and
QALYs.
