This study aimed to describe the denotative and connotative meanings, as well as
figurative meanings in the figure of speech in the discourse in Taklim Sunnah
Instagram account, downloaded September-December 2020. This study was
descriptive qualitative. The data were in the form of discourse containing figures
of speech in the taklim_sunnah Instagram account. The data obtained in this study
were 23 discourses. The source of this data was in the Taklim Sunnah Instagram
account, downloaded September-December 2020. The methods and techniques in
this study were divided into three stages; providing data, analyzing data, and
presenting the results of data analysis. The data provision was conducted by
listening and note-taking. Data were analyzed by contextual method. Presentation
of the results of data analysis employed informal methods. This study concluded
that the figure of speech found in the discourse of the taklim _ sunnah Instagram
account contained denotative and connotative meanings as well as figurative
meanings. Data containing denotative and connotative meanings as well as
fi!J"fative meanings in simile figure of speech which obtained 5 data,
metaphorical figure of speech collected 2 data, personification figure of speech
had 17 data, and synecdoche figure of the speech showed only one datum.
