Abstract
This research was conducted at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah
Patikraja. This study aims to determine the formation of courageous and disciplined
characters in class VI students through the leadership journey program at Madrasah
Ibtidaiyah Muhammadiyah Patikraja. The background of this research is to find out
how to form courageous and disciplined characters in class VI students. Based on
observations made in class VI, all students have learned about character so that they
have high enthusiasm and encouragement from the teacher to be able to apply it in
carrying out the leadership journey program and in everyday life. Research
conducted by researchers is a qualitative research. The validity of the data using
triangulation. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and
documentation. Tringulation testing conducted by researchers using triangulation
sources and techniques. The results of the study show that the Leadership Journey
program at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Patikraja Banyumas has been successful. The
implementation of this character formation is carried out by the teacher in
collaboration with parents of students under supervision and providing
encouragement for learning in the form of delivering positive, independent
sentences, encouragement to be able to communicate with other people properly
and politely. With this Leadership Journey program, children's characters are
increasingly formed into individuals who are polite, flexible, brave, disciplined, and
ready to face challenges. This was marked by the success of class VI MI
Muhammadiyah Patikraja students in taking a leadership trip to Yogyakarta. The
driving factor in character building through the leadership journey is marked by the
support from parents and teachers who participate in giving encouragement. The
inhibiting factor itself is in the form of a long journey and having many activities
carried out throughout the day makes students feel very tired.
