Abstract

This study aims to determine whether student achievement results by implementing direct learning models using calculators obtain better results than by implementing conventional models. This was a quasi-experimental research with Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The population in this study was the fourth grade of SD UMP, Kembaran sub district, Banyumas Regency in 2020, totaling 59 students. The sample in this study was fourth grade A (29 students) and fourth grade B (30 students). The fourth grade A students were an experimental class implementing a direct learning model, and fourth grade B students were a control class implementing a direct learning model without using a calculator. The sampling technique used cluster random sampling. The data collection technique in this study was a test in essays, namely pretest and posttest. The results of non-parametric test calculations with hypothesis testing using the Mann- Whitney test of SPSS obtained sig 0. 05 or sig 0. 001 0. 05. There is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the direct learning model using a calculator with a conventional learning model on the mathematics learning achievement of circumference and area of plan figure for fourth-grade of Primary Schools.
