Abstract

This purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of reward and
punishment o.f civil servant performance with work discipline as intervening
variable study in Public Works Department and Spatial Planning of Cilacap
Regency. The population in this study were all Public Works Department and
Spatial Planning ofCilacap Regency. The sample used in this study was 157 Civil
Servant Performance using saturated sample techniques. The analysis used is
Goodness of Fit, T Test, Sobel Test, Determination Coefficient Test (R2_}.
Based on the results of this study concluded that from the goodness of fit
model 1 and model 2 have met the goodness of fit. Research results obtained
based on the t test were obtained; (a) reward has a significant effect on civil
servants performance (b) punishment has a significant effect on civil servants
performance (c) work discipline has a sign{ficant effect on civil servants
performance, (d) reward has a significant effect on work discipline, (e)
punishment has a significant effect on work discipline as evidenced by the t value
greater than t table. The result of the Sobel test it is known that reward has a
sign!ficant effect on the civil servants performance through work discipline and
punishment has a significant effect on the civil servants performance through
work discipline. Based on the test of the test of the coefficients o.l determination
(R2
) model I shows the magnitude of the reward, punishment, and work discipline
on employee performance by 40, 2%. In the determination coefficients test (R~
model 2 shows the percentage of reward, punishment on work discipline by
35,8%.
