Minimarkets, as well as minimarkets in the Margasari Subdistrict, are
among the modern markets that have proliferated in Indonesia in recent years.
This study aims to determine the spatial effect of minimarkets on grocery stalls in
the Margasari Subdistrict. Qualitative descriptive survey research was conducted
to obtain primary and secondary data through observation and interviews.
Purposive sampling was used as the sampling technique, with a total of 26
grocery stalls in Prupuk Utara Village because it has the most number.
Frequency tabulation was employed throughout data processing. The data
analysis of effect and effort was done using descriptive principles, and the
classification of the spatial impact data into three groups, namely significantly
affected, affected, and not affected, was done. The findings indicated that there
was an effect on the decreased number of customers and decreased income; out of
26 grocery stalls, there were 6 on collector roads, 2 of which were seriously
affected; 1 grocery stall was affected; 3 grocery stalls were unaffected; and 20
grocery stalls were affected on the street village; none of the grocery stall owners
made any attempts to maintain the business they had.
