Abstract

This research is aimed: (1) to find out the influence of media "lokawisata
videos" on students' interest in learning to write description texts, (2) to find out the
influence of media "lokawisata videos" on the learning outcomes of writing
description texts. The design uses an experimental method of the Quasi
Nonequivalent Control Group Design experiment. Sampling of the seventh grade
students of Muhammadiyah 1 Cilacap Middle School uses Random Sampling. Data
collection techniques in this study were likert scale tests and questionnaires. Data
analysis techniques using t test. The results of the study were processed using SPSS
with the value of the t test calculated on the interest of 10.728 while the t table value
at a significant level of 95% (0.05) showed that it was 1.998 then the media
"lokawisata video" affected the interest because t count> t table while for learning
outcomes write the description text obtained by t test of 4.995. Then the media
"lokawisata video" influences the results of writing description text because t count>
t table. From these results, the hypotheses put forward by the "lokawisata video"
media influence the interest and learning outcomes of writing a description text in
class VII of SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Cilacap academic year of 2017-2018.
