Abstract
This study aimed to find out the role of the teachers and the challenges faced by them in increasing the students learning motivation on the fifth grade of SD N 2 Penambongan in post-pandemic learning. This descriptive qualitative research was conducted from November 24th to December 17th, 2022. The participants of this research included the school principal, the fifth-grade teacher, students, and parents in SD N 2 Penambongan. The instrument of this research was the researcher himself. The data were collected using interview, observation, and documentation, while the data analysis included purposive sampling, data reduction, data display, and verification. This research used technique and data triangulations. The results showed the two most stood out roles that the teacher implemented as a professional teacher were as a motivator and initiator. In addition, there were also five students who had decreasing motivation during the face-to-face learning process after the covid-19 pandemic. It was caused by the lack of parents guidance and motivation to their children and learning collaboration with the teacher which became the main cause of the students decreasing motivation. The effort done by the teacher was by motivating the students through the parents association group
