Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement in writing descriptive paragraphs for
grade V at SDN 1 Canduk Banyumas after learning to write paragraphs through a
cooperative learning model with serial picture media. This was a Classroom Action
Research (CAR). The data were the students' skills in writing descriptive paragraphs
through a round table-type cooperative learning model with serial picture media.
Data collection techniques used observation, tests, and documentation. The study
results show that the round table-type cooperative learning model with serial picture
media can improve students' writing skills. This is evidenced by the increase in the
average skills score before the intervention, cycles I and II. The average score before
the intervention was 53.9 and increased in the first and second cycles to 62.23 and
84.6, respectively. This shows an increase of 30.7.
