Abstract

Subjective well being is an effort made by individuals to achieve psychological satisfaction with aspects of life in order to achieve happiness. Meanwhile, an involuntary childless wife is a wife who expects to have children, but still cannot have them, which is not intentional. This study aims to reveal the meaning of Subjective Well-being of Involuntary Childless working Wives.
This study uses a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. Participants in this study consisted of 4 wives. Data collection techniques were carried out using semi-structured interviews. The credibility of this study uses the extension of observations and triangulation of sources. The data analysis used is data analysis developed by Giorgi, namely reading transcripts many times, taking transcripts that already contain units of meaning (units of meaning), making psychological descriptions, making structural descriptions, replicating themes from structural descriptions, Repeat steps 1-5 for different participants, synthesizing themes, and finding essence.
The results showed that there is a meaning of subjective well-being of involuntary childless working wives, namely participants experiencing subjective well-being such as self-acceptance, gratitude, and social support. Participants feel satisfaction in life, often feel positive emotions and low negative emotions. The low level of positive affection he felt did not make the participant continue to deteriorate towards his condition, but he always sought and found happiness through the support he received from those closest to him and a pleasant sense of self-acceptance so that he felt satisfaction in his life. The various problems faced make the subject always be patient, not forgetting to be grateful for their life and always pray so that they can have children, all of which are the meaning of Subjective Well Being
