This research aims to analyze the representation of Colombian cultural elements in the movie Encanto (2021) from the sociology of literature approach by Alan Swingewood. The research applies the qualitative method, which focuses on the descriptive data of the study. The method of collecting data uses library research through the purposive sampling technique. The primary source of the data is the film Encanto produced by Walt Disney in 2021 and directed by Jared Bush and Byron Howard. The secondary data are any information necessary for the study taken from some supporting sources. The data analysis utilizes the inductive- analytical method presenting the data findings, analysis from the theory of the cultural elements by Pujiyanti and Zuliani, and discussion from the perspective of literary sociology. The result of the study shows that the representation of Colombian cultures in the movie is varied and significant. The portrayal can be seen from these cultural elements, namely: (1) ritual or ceremony; (2) hero or famous persons; (3) symbols; (4) artefact; (5) norms; (6) confidences; (7) myths/histories/stories/legends; and (8) attitude. From the perspective of literary sociology, the movie is considered a social reflection and a social document. The first refers to the existing aspects of Colombian culture in the film. On the other hand, the second relates to the movie as the social product that documents the representation of the cultures within it.
