Fathers have a dominant role in family life, such as being a priest, making a living and not being separated from raising children. The parenting pattern applied by the father is to instill polite and disciplined behavior in his children so that they can be accepted in the social environment. A father also has a role in raising their children and the parenting style that is carried out cannot be separated from the local culture.
This study aims to examine the Parenting Pattern in the Banyumas Family. This study uses a qualitative research method with a case study approach. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 2 primary participants and 4 secondary informants. Credibility using source triangulation. Data analysis using interactive model data analysis.
The findings of this study are to reveal the description of Parenting Fathers in the Banyumas Family, having democratic parenting by providing examples or positive things so that children imitate positive things, and do not take care of children by means of violence. In caring for children, participants have the same parenting pattern as taught by their father, which is about discipline, be it time discipline, discipline in doing worship and discipline in managing finances.
