Abstract
Thailand is a third country that has a majority Buddhist population. While the
population of Thailand who are Muslims only amount to 10%. Today, Muslims
spread around the world about 1,500 million people form the Organizationof the
Islamic Conference (OIC) has 55 member states. The group consumes more than 3
trillion baht of food per year and will only eat "Halal" (HALAL) food worldwide,
providing halal food of international standard, those who run restaurant businesses
for Muslims, it is very important to strictly adhere to Islamic principles. The word
halal has become public consumption and is very popular in the business world,
both food products business, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. For business people,
the word halal is not just a religious concept that considers that halal is seen from a
religious point of view only, but also has a global meaning, namely business
opportunities. The role of the Islamic Council in Thailand on the process of giving
halaltie sertif on food products andbeverages, it is very important to study the
millennials dizaman modernthis.
The research aims to find out the Role of the Islamic Religious Assembly in
Thailand About the Process of Giving Halal Certificate On Food Products dan
Beverage. The research method used is qualitatively descriptive by conducting field
research. The data obtained in this study is in the form of primary data sources and
secondary data. Data collection techniques using observation, interview and
documentation. For data analysis in this study using deductive methods.
The results showed that the Role of the Islamic Religious Assembly in Thailand
On the Process of Giving HalalIkat Sertif On Food Products dan Beverage, has
fulfilled the provisions of the Islamic Council of Thailand or called MAIT is an
institution in fostering the participation of Muslims in the country of Thailand, the
Islamic Religious Assembly established the standardization of halal food products
by checking the location of companies, logos and halal certificates in Thailand the
manufacture of stamps on halal food products in Thailand.
