Scientific literacy is defined by PISA (Program for International Student Assessment) as the ability to use scientific knowledge, identify questions, and draw conclusions based on evidence, in order to understand and make decisions regarding nature and nature changes due to human activities. In PISA, scientific literacy includes content, process, and the context of science. Science content includes material contained in the curriculum that is cross-curriculum with an emphasis on understanding concepts and the ability to use them in life. The science process refers to the mental process involved in solving problems. While the context of science is the area of application of scientific concepts. This study aimed to describe the profile of students' scientific literacy ability at SMP Negeri 2 Bantarkawung. The subjects were ninth grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Bantarkawung, totaling 47 students. In this qualitative descriptive study using a survey method, the research instrument used in the form of scientific literacy questions from PISA 2015 which consisted of 20 questions; multiple-choice questions, and essays. Data analysis was done by using the percentage technique. The results showed that the scientific literacy ability profile of ninth-grade students at SMP Negeri 2 Bantarkawung had a sufficient score; an average of 51, a science content aspect score of 59, a science process aspect of 41, and a science context aspect of 41.
