The majority of the people of Banyumas Regency are muslims, so it makes
the potential of zakat in Banyumas Regency very large. However, the potential of
zakat could not achieve optimal results due to obstacles in the process of zakat
fundraising. The purpose of this research was to find out the problems of zakat
fundraising faced by Zakat Management Organization in Banyumas Regency by
determining two main issues: zakat fundraising and evaluation of zakat
fundraising.
This research was a descriptive qualitative research using data collection
techniques of interview, observation and documentation. Data analysis used
primary data from the result of interview with BAZNAS Banyumas and LKC
Dompet Dhuafa Purwokerto using the theory of zakat fundraising with the
existing legislation approach. Data analysis was carried out through
synchronization between research data and theories that would support the
conclusions of this study.
This study showed that the Zakat Management Organization in Banyumas
Regency faced several problems in the process of zakat fundraising form within or
outside organization. The problems included the limited human resources, the low
awareness of the community such as muzakki, muzakki who did not confirm the
payment of zakat and others. The result of zakat fundraising from BAZNAS
Banyumas showed an increase in data from year to year, while the result of zakat
fundraising in LKC Dompet Dhuafa have fluctuated in recent years. The zakat
fundraising program at BAZNAS Banyumas was divided into socialization and
coaching. While the zakat fundraising program at LKC Dompet Dhuafa
Purwokerto was divided into the socialization and organization of various events.
Evaluation of zakat fundraising was carried out by BAZNAS Banyumas
periodically once every month, every six months and once a year. While the
evaluation of zakat fundraising conducted by LKC Dompet Dhuafa Purwokerto
was conducted periodically once a month, every three months and every six
months.
