Abstract
Mathematical literacy is defined as the ability of an individual to formulate,
use and interpret mathematics in various contexts. This study aims to describe the
mathematical ability of class VIII A students of SMP Negeri 2 Patikraja in terms
of introverted and extroverted personality types. The type of research used is
descriptive qualitative research. Data collection techniques used are
questionaires, written tests, interviews and documentation. Subject determination
was carried out using purposive sampling technique obtained by class VIII A.
Students were grouped into introverted and extroverted personality types. Each
personality was selected by 3 students by purposive sampling to be given the
mathematical literacy skills tests. The result of this study indicate that students
with introverted personality types tend to be able to fulfill aspects of mathematical
literacy skills than students with extroverted personality types.
