Abstract
Vocational education as a form of education that supports the mastery of certain
applied skills is applied at the SMK level and is expected to be a part of national
economic growth. Vocational school graduates with skills in a field and have global
insight are very much needed so that the labor absorption of vocational school
graduates continues to increase. Because of that vocational graduates in addition
must have hard skills and soft skills. Soft skills in question include the invisible
abilities that become positive characters such as being able to communicate in
themselves, socialize, negotiate, and so on that must be possessed by SMK
graduates to compete in the world of work. This research was conducted at SMK
Negeri 1 Bawang Kab. Banjarnegara, using the case study research method with a
qualitative approach. A qualitative approach is carried out because the researcher
wants to explore phenomena that cannot be quantitatively descriptive in nature,
such as the process of a variety of concepts, characteristics of goods and services,
images, styles, procedures, etc. In qualitative research, this writer tries to
understand the subject and object of research from his own frame of mind, the most
important is the experience, opinions, feelings, and knowledge of participants. The
focus of the case study is the case specification in an event that includes individuals,
cultural groups or a portrait of life. As well as the problems of BDP students of
SMK Negeri 1 Bawang, efforts to apply soft skills, communication skills and online
business negotiations in online business. The problems become a challenge for
students to immediately overcome them so that the online business turnover that is
done continues to increase. The implications of the competency of soft skills in
communication and negotiation of BDP student expertise enable online business
development to continue. by adjusting the curriculum that emphasizes the soft skills
of communication skills and student negotiations. Other form of effort to improve
competence and overcome difficulties that arise is to cooperate with the business
and industrial world (DU / DI) in accordance as students' learning needs,
continuous mentoring, optimization of Industrial Work Practices (Prakerin), and
use unit of production as student learning space so that they have implications for
transaction success.
