Abstract

Listening skill is the ability of humans to understand sound signals by receiving, understanding, interpreting, and then responding to the source of the sound. This study aims to measure students' listening skills using ELLLO which affects students' English skills, especially in the listening comprehension aspect. By identifying those factors, the learning process could become more effective and efficient. In addition, teachers can use solutions from these factors to improve students' language skills during the learning process. The findings of this study aim provide results that can be useful for teachers and students. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. By using this method, researchers will be able to describe the data obtained in detail. After the researcher got enough data by doing a test and also giving open questions, then the data was analyzed by looking for the average of all students. With the average ability of students who are at the intermediate level, it can be concluded that there are still many students who have difficulty working on listening comprehension questions at the Intermediate level. The lack of mastery on vocabulary and also not used to hear the pronunciation of English vocabulary spoken directly by native speakers so students can't identify the meaning are the two main factors that hinder students from getting maximum results on this occasion.
