Abstract

This study aimed at finding out the students’ self-efficacy and anxiety in speaking English through online learning. The research method used in this research was a descriptive quantitative. The data were collected by using questionnaire and interview. There were 39 respondents who filled the questionnaire and 6 of them were interviewed. The respondents are from the 4th semester students of English Language Education Study Program of Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. The findings revealed that students have a high level of self-efficacy and anxiety when speaking English through online learning. It may be noticed from the "High" level of student self-efficacy with 75.72 percent and the "High" level of student anxiety with 66.93 percent.
