Abstract

Being a salesperson, in addition to an attractive appearance, they are also required to be able to promote or offer the products they sell in order to achieve the target. A salesperson must be able to attract customers through the communication skills carried out during the promotion so that customers are interested in the products being sold. This study aims to determine the effect of self-efficacy on interpersonal communication at motorcycle sales dealer x in Purwokerto. Research respondents are motorcycle dealer sales in Purwokerto with a total of 100 sales respondents spread across Purwokerto motorcycle dealers.
Methods of data collection using a scale of self-efficacy and interpersonal communication scale. Reliability test using Cronbach alpha and validity test using product moment with N=30 obtained r table 0.361. On the self-efficacy scale, the validity moves from r=0.130 to r=0.606 so that there are 27 valid items with a reliability of 0.742. Interpersonal communication scale, the validity of moving from r = -0.049 to r = 0.656 with a reliability of 0.739.
The results of data analysis found that there was an effect of self-efficacy on interpersonal communication at motorcycle sales dealers x in Purwokerto with a value of Fcount = 35,616 with a probability of sig (p) = 0.000 (p < 0.05) with a Tcount of 5.968 with a probability of sig (p). ) = 0.000 (p < 0.05) so that the hypothesis can be accepted, namely that there is a significant effect of self-efficacy on interpersonal communication. The R-square value shows a value of 0.267, which means that self-efficacy contributes 26.7% effectively to interpersonal communication, while 74.3% is determined by other factors not examined in this study.
