This study entitled "The Improvement of Poetry Writing Skills through
Outdoor Learning Methods Assisted by LKPD in Students of Grade X of Social
Science Program 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Purwareja Klampok 2019". This classroom
action research was conducted due to the low results of the students' poetry writing
skills in grade X social science program 1 of SMA Negeri 1 Purwareja Klampok. The
attempt made to improve poetry writing skills was by using outdoor learning methods
assisted by LKPD. The outdoor learning method is a method that can increase student
activity and enthusiasm in participating in learning activities. The subjects of this
study were students of grade X of social science program 1 which consisted of total 34
students. This study conducted in two cycles in which each cycle consisted of four
stages, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The research instruments
used in this study were observation of teacher activities, observation of student
activities, interviews, and student worksheets (LKPD). The results of this study
showed an increase in students' poetry writing skills from the average score in the
first cycle of 71.8 to 76.3 in the second cycle. The number of students who fulfilled the
KKM (minimum master criterion) in cycle I was 16 students with a percentage of
completeness of 48.4% and in cycle II there were 26 students with a percentage of
completeness of 76.4% or an increase of 28%. To conclude, the use of outdoor
learning methods assisted by LKPD can improve students' poetry writing skills.
