Abstract

The research aims to determine students' mathematical representation ability and
self confidence who are taught using TTW model and those who are taught using
DMR model in MTs Ma'arif NU 06 Bojongsari. The population in this research
was all seventh grade students in MTs Ma'arif NU 06 Bojongsari. The sample
used was cluster random sampling. There were two classes as the sample namely
class VIIC and VIID. The analysis used was Mann Whitney test for mathematical
representation ability post-test data and t-test independent sample test for self
confidence questionnaire. The results revealed that mathematical representation
ability post-test obtained 0.0005 < 0.05, so Ho is rejected. It means that students'
mathematical representation ability who are taught using TTW is better than
students' mathematical representation ability who are taught using DMR model.
The result of self confidence questionnaire showed that sig = 0.0025, so 0.0025 <
0.05, so Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. It can be concluded that students' self
confidence who are taught using TTW model is better than students' self
confidence who are taught using DMR model.
