The research entitled the influence of reading habit on the reading comprehension of
grade IX students of MTs Andalusia (Boarding School) Banjarnegara in the academic
year of 2019-2020 aims to describe the influence of reading habit on students reading
comprehension. The research is a quantitative research using survey method. The
data are analysed through a quantitative descriptive method. The obtained data are
first described and then analysed using correlation and regression formula to find out
the influence of reading habit on reading comprehension. The data consist of a
reading habits questionnaire and a reading comprehensions test. The research result
indicates that the average result of the students reading habit is moderate with a
percentage of 41.67%. Meanwhile, the average result of the students reading
comprehension is high with a percentage of 45%. Moreover, the research result also
indicates that a value of 53.4% influence of the students reading habit on the students
reading comprehension is found. It describes that 1% improvement of the students
reading habit will influence the students reading comprehension at a value of 0.290.
