This research aimed to describe the kinds of vocabulary and sentence mastery spoken
by 4-5 years old children in At-Taqwa Early Childhood Education. The methods of
this research included a type of research, data and data source, and method of the
research. This was descriptive qualitative research whose data were the utterances of
4-5 years old children in Class A of At-Taqwa Early Childhood Education. The
methods used in this research were: method and technique of data supply, method and
technique of data analysis, and method and technique of data analysis result display.
The observation method was used in data supply continued with the tapping technique
and Involved Conversation Observation Technique, recording and taking note
technique. The data analysis used a distribution method with the basic technique of
segmenting immediate constituent and continued with substitute technique, expansion
technique, and paraphrasing technique. Meanwhile, the method of data analysis result
display used formal and informal data display. The results of the research done on 24
children consisting of 11 males and 13 females showed some vocabularies and
sentences included common vocabularies such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, and
adverbs, and specific vocabularies such as colors, time, numbers, money, and popular
vocabularies. The vocabularies mastered by most of the children were nouns, while
the basic pattern of the sentence mastered by most of the children were Subject (S)-
Predicate (P), Subject (S)- Predicate (P)-Object (O), Subject (S)-Predicate (P)-
