The research entitled the influence of school literacy program on the reading
comprehension of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Lumbir Banyumas District in
the academic year of 2019-2020 aims to describe the influence of the school literacy
program on students reading comprehension. The research is quantitative descriptive
research. The data consist of the result of the school literacy programs questionnaire
and the result of the students reading comprehensions test. The research result
indicates that the result of the questionnaire is relatively high with a percentage of
42.5%. meanwhile, the result of the test is moderate with a percentage of 40%.
Moreover, the research result also indicates that a value of 46.1% influence of the
school literacy program on the students reading comprehension is found. It describes
that 1% improvement of the school literacy program will influence the students
reading comprehension at a value of 0.234%.
