Abstract

The Coronavirus commonly known as Covid-19 has disrupted people's lives including the education sector. The Indonesian government obliged Social Distancing as an attempt to break the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Therefore, remote learning was inevitably taken as the only alternative in learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to obtain an overview of the implementation of remote learning in grade V of SD Negeri 1 Karanggintung. The research subjects were the principal of SD Negeri 1 Karanggintung, grade V teachers, parents of grade V students, and grade V students of SD Negeri 1 Karanggintung. Observation, interviews, and documentation were conducted as the research data collection. This was descriptive qualitative research. The data analysis was carried out using data analysis techniques developed by Miles and Huberman. The results showed that: (1) the implementation of remote learning in grade V SD Negeri 1 Karanggintung, the teacher had to prepare; (a) lesson plan for remote learning, (b) the implementation of remote learning that contains remote learning strategies, methods, sources, and media supporting remote learning, (c) remote learning evaluation. (2) supporting factors in remote learning consisted of (a) the maximum planning carried out by the school to succeed the remote learning, (b) subsidies in the form of free internet quotas given by the school andthe government (c) good communication between the school and students' parents in improving and disciplining students during online learning. The decreased enthusiasm of students and the lack of assistance from parents in learning were considered as inhibiting factors in remote learning.
