Abstract

This study aims to determine the improvement of listening skills to fables with YouTube video media in remote learning for seventh-grade students of class C at SMP Negeri 2 Kroya, Cilacap regency totaling 32 students; 18 male students and 14 female students. This research was conducted in 3 cycles; pre-cycle, first cycle, and second cycle. Each cycle contains four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Indonesian printed books were used in the pre-cycle, YouTube video was used in the first cycle, and other YouTube video was used as the medium in the second cycle in order to improve students' listening skills. This study involved Indonesian language teachers and researchers as observers of teacher activities.
The results showed an increase in each cycle. In the pre-cycle of 32 students, 13 students or 40.62%, achieved learning completeness and had an average grade of 68.12. In the first cycle after using the YouTube video media, 22 students, or 68.75% passed learning completeness and had an average grade of 74. In the second cycle after changing the YouTube media video, 27 students, or 84.37%, had learning completeness with an average score of 79.68. So the listening skills to fables with YouTube video media in remote learning for seventh grade students of class C at SMP Negeri 2 Kroya, Cilacap regency showed a significant increase.
