This study aims to describe (1) how the implementation of grade X assessment
based on Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) class X SMA Negeri 1
Mangunjaya Pangandaran Regency and (2) analyze the test questions
implemented in Indonesian subjects in terms of the criteria of the Higher Order
Thinking Skills questions ( HOTS). This research was conducted at SMA Negeri
1 Mangunjaya Pangandaran Regency using qualitative descriptive methods. The
data source in this study is a matter of End of Semester Assessment (PAS) and
Year End Assessment (PAT) of Indonesian subjects in class X. The data obtained
in the form of multiple choice questions and essays are implemented in schools.
Obtaining data in this study using instruments and researchers themselves as
research instruments. The data is examined with descriptive analysis techniques.
The results of the first assessment were obtained by the implementation of HOTSbased
assessment of Indonesian subjects in class X in the form of multiple choice
and essays which have been widely implemented. This is evident from the total
number of questions that are already in the cognitive realm of analyzing,
evaluating, and creating. The second assessment results obtained that the form of
multiple choice questions and essays already meet the criteria of HOTS questions.
This is evident from the many multiple choice questions and essays that use
interesting and contextual stimuli, measure cognitive abilities at the level of
analysis, evaluation, and create and have used implied answers to stimuli.
