Abstract
Mathematical Connection Ability is an ability that is needed by students in learning mathematics. Most students see Mathematics as a difficult subject, this perception results in students' lowest score on national exams of all subjects. In addition, students often get a low score in this subject. This condition can affect the learning process of students which will later affect the students' ability and learning outcomes. Thus, the researchers are motivated in conducting research about student intelligence of Adversity Quotient, specifically about student's learning style of learning autonomy. Therefore, this study aimed 1) to determine (1) the correlation between Adversity Quotient and Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students; (2) the correlation between Learning autonomy and Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students; (3) the correlation between Adversity Quotient and Learning autonomy on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students. Moreover, it also aimed (2) to analyze the effect of Learning autonomy on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students and (3)to analyze the effect of Adversity Quotient and Learning Independence on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students. This was expost facto research with a quantitative approach using grade XII students of MIPA1 as research sample taken through purposive sampling technique. The data were analyzed using Kendall taub correlation, Kendall w concordance coefficient, and ordinal regression. The results of the analysis showed that (1) Adversity Quotient had a positive and insignificant effect on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students; (2)Learning autonomy had a positive and insignificant effect on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students, and (3) Adversity Quotient and Learning autonomy had a positive and significant effect on the Mathematical Connection Ability of high school students.
