The focus of the problem in this study is the types of ambiguity included in the discourse of the novel Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia. The purpose of this study was to describe the types of ambiguity contained in the discourse of the novel entitled Assalamualaikum Beijing by Asma Nadia. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The data collection method used is observation and note-taking, the data analysis was conducted by observing (reading) the novel and then selects sentences containing types of ambiguity. The research method used in this research is the comparative and distributional method. The instrument in this research was the data classification table. The supporting instruments in this study were laptops and books. The data were analyzed using meaning analysis with the existing theories. Data identification was conducted to determine the collected data, then the data were grouped and presented according to the type of ambiguity in the form of classification and description tables. Based on the results of research and analysis, there were 70 data that contain ambiguity, data contained grammatical ambiguity, phonetic ambiguity, lexical ambiguity, and redundancy.
