Abstract
The condition and situation of the Covid-19 virus outbreak experienced by countries in all
parts of the world including Indonesia. The Covid-19 pandemic has affected the joints of
life. Likewise, what happened in the world of education, many changes were experienced
from the learning aspect, curriculum, methods and others. Learning activities that are
normally carried out with face-to-face activities in the classroom have turned into an
online learning process carried out by distance learning using the help of a mobile phone.
This process is carried out in order to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus. Like the
schools in the Eka Kapti Gugus, the Coordinator for the Education Sector, Maos District,
is to continue to be able to carry out learning optimally by implementing distance
learning.In order for the distance learning process to be carried out optimally, the
supervision of school principals is very necessary in order to increase the effectiveness of
teacher performance during the pandemic. This study aims to describe in depth the
supervision of school principals on the motivation of teacher performance during the
pandemic, which focuses on 3 ( three) things, namely: (1) how to implement the
supervision of the principal; (2) how the principal's supervision is able to motivate
teacher performance; (3) how are the inhibiting and supporting factors for the
implementation of the principal's supervision. This research uses a qualitative approach
with a phenomenological type of research. This research is descriptive in nature, namely
the author analyzes and describes the existing phenomena about the activities, events, and
circumstances in the research place. Data collection techniques were carried out by
interviews, observations, and documents. Data analysis uses Miles and Huberman's
interactive data analysis technique which includes data collection, data reduction, data
presentation, and conclusions.After that, the validity of the data was tested by using a
triangulation test for credibility. 2) teacher performance related to pedagogic competence,
personality competence, professional competence and social competence which is less
than optimal due to the pandemic can be further encouraged; 3) There are several
inhibiting factors related to technical and non-technical problems, the diverse character of
teachers is unique, so it is the principal's job to maximize supervision which aims to
motivate and motivate teachers.
