Abstract

Background: Ibuprofen is an NSAID that is included in BCS class 2, namely high membrane permeability and low solubility. Therefore it is necessary to increase the dissolution rate by increasing the solubility through solid dispersion. From the solid dispersion results it was formulated into tablet dosage forms with the difference in disintegrant Avicel PH 102. Methods: Literature study using several relevant references / articles then analyzed and synthesized. Results: Based on the results of a literature study by looking at the data on the effectiveness of Avicel PH 102 against the solid dispersion tablet formulation of Ibuprofen. So that it can increase the hardness and dissolution rate as well as reduce the brittleness and speed up the disintegration time of tablets. Conclusion: That the formation of Ibuprofen tablets with the effect of differences in the concentration of disintegrant Avicel PH 102 can increase the hardness and dissolution rate as well as reduce the brittleness and accelerate the disintegrant time of tablets.
