The purpose of this study was to describe the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students of SMP Negeri 1Kalimanah based on mathematical anxiety on the material of the linear equation system with two variables (SPLDV). The subjects in this study were students of grade VIII I of SMP Negeri 1 Kalimanah with a purposive sampling technique. The subjects of this study were students with mild, moderate, and severe levels of anxiety in which 3 students were selected from each level of mathematical anxiety. The data analysis technique used in this study was a descriptive qualitative method that included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The data collection methods used were tests, interviews, and documentation. The triangulation technique was also used in this study to validate the results. The results of this study showed that students with mild anxiety categories appeared to be better in their problem-solving abilities than students with moderate and severe anxiety categories because students with mild anxiety categories were able to fulfill all three indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability. On the other hand, students with moderate anxiety category were only able to fulfill 2 indicators while students with severe anxiety category fulfilled 1 mathematical problem-solving indicator.
